Coaching
Staff
Head Coach:
Matt Forrest founded Solo Aquatics in the summer of 2006.
With over 14 years of USA Swimming coaching experience, Coach
Forrest has worked with athletes from the novice to Olympic Trial
level. Prior to the
formation of Solo Aquatics, he was the Senior Coach for the New
England Barracudas from 2002-2006.
Past duties also include: Head Coach of the Westbrook Seals
in Maine, where he served on the Board of Directors of Maine
Swimming. He graduated
from the University of Southern Maine with a B.S. in Business
Administration and a double minor in Economics and Finance.
While coaching in New England, Matt has led his swimmers to
many distinctions, including:

Honors
Assistant Coach:
Paul Mueller joined the coaching staff in the fall of 2007.
As a swimmer, Paul swam for Central Catholic High School for four
years, as well as the New England Barracudas. After high
school, Paul attended Boston College
where he graduated with a dual degree in History and Education, and
competed on the nationally ranked BC Rugby Football Club. In
addition to coaching with Solo Aquatics, Paul has over 10 years of
experience coaching for the Bradford Swim Club, where he was the
Executive Director from 2009-2011. Paul currently works as a
history teacher in Lawrence and is working towards becoming an
Assistant Principal. He will be working primarily with the Age
Group 2 swimmers.
Assistant Coach:
Melanie Doe joined the coaching staff in the fall of 2010.
She is a graduate of Holy Cross where she earned her B.A. in
Psychology, and she is currently attending B.U.’s School of Social
Work. Melanie coached
swim team and taught swim lessons at the Bradford Swim Club for six
summers. She also
coached the Haverhill YMCA team for one year and swam for Haverhill
High for four years. Currently,
Melanie is a teacher’s assistant at the Merrimack Special
Education Collaborative. She
will be working primarily with the Intro swimmers.
Assistant Coach: Paul Hicks joined the coaching staff in the fall of
2012. As a swimmer, Paul
swam for the New England Barracudas and Solo Aquatics.
Paul has over 8 years of experience
as a coach and athlete. After high school he attended Salem
State University and Northern Essex Community College where he
studied Physical Education. Paul will be working
primarily with the Age Group 1 swimmers.
